OUT OF CONTEXT BY ALEXANDRA CLARK

The concept behind ‘Out of Context’ is related to the possibilities that photography allows for removing a subject from its original situation, and to the ways in which it permits a selected image to be artistically recreated or reinvented by being given a new context.

Its inspiration and subjects are found in the big urban cities around the world, from Buenos Aires and Mexico City, to London, Lille and Berlin. It is found in decaying structures, in the dirt and grime of the underground railways, in ripped posters, in random paint splashes on roads, and graffiti on walls.
